IPA & Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy to train students on tablet coating technology
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) – Education Division, Industrial Pharmacy Division and IPA Peenya Local Branch and Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, is organising a training programme cum national seminar on “tablet coating technology” from January 23 to 24 in sponsorship with L B Bohle, Colorcon and ACG Worldwide.
The two-day training programme will provide basic knowledge of tablet coating operations, equipment type and function, advanced application training with hands-on experience for the participant to learn the basics of tablet coating, understand common nomenclature, differentiate between various coating defects, learn about the various coating technologies used in manufacturing today and create a base for new innovation in coating.
The objective of the programme is to develop and maintain an accurate and robust coating process as a clear understanding of the technology is necessary. Sources from the Acharya & BM Reddy college of pharmacy said that this training programme will help all the students and professionals to get the thorough knowledge on recent developments and advances going on in tablet coating technology.
Dr Diwakar Goli, principal of Acharya & B M Reddy college said, “The majority of modern solid dosage production is accompanied by coating. There are many reasons for coating the solid dosage forms, such as colour for marketing reasons or the increase of bioavailability in case of solid dispersion, etc.”
Eminent personalities from industry like Subodh Priolkar, president, IPA, Ajit Singh, chairman of ACG Worldwide, Kaushik Desai, chairman-Industrial Pharmacy Division, Dr T V Narayan, chairman, IPA-education division and Dr Divakar Goli, president of IPA Peenya branch and principal of Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy will be present at the programme to impart knowledge on the tablet coating technology.
