Indian Pharmaceutical Association’s (IPA) Industrial Pharmacy Division is organizing a two-day seminar on “Extractables and Leachables” to be held at Hyderabad on November, 11, 2010 and at Mumbai on November 13, 2010. The event is being organised in association with SGS Life Sciences.

The guest speakers are from Europe and Singapore in addition to Indian experts who will also provide the current usage of containers and closures.

According to the organizers, the key objective of the event is to address the issue of complete extractable and leachable assessment. Since closures and containers play a vital role in delivering safe and effective drugs to the consumer, a good container closure will protect the drug from deterioration from light and water microbes. Therefore there is need for the pharma industry to comprehend the importance of extractables and leachables. A manufacturer of finished formulations should have sufficient knowledge about the containers and closures. Therefore, this seminar will address the issue to the industry.

The seminar is particularly suitable for product development scientists, quality assurance and quality control professions, regulatory officials and senior research scientists.

The organizers have also informed that the registrations will be available to only 100 delegates.
