ITC Infotech, a subsidiary of ITC Ltd. is hopeful that its 40 pilot projects currently being tested for its feasibility at major global pharma and life sciences companies will be finalized for installation. These cover the OpenUI (user interface) which is a technology framework calibrated on Oracle Seibel platform, an Analytics-based specialized customer value management framework for Customer Experience Management and Comprehensive Trade Management.

With OpenUI the pharma and lifesciences companies would be able to act on opportunities and manage competitive sales threats more effectively any where using a mobile or a tablet PC.

These solutions have been developed by a 400 member team of the company representing the business consulting and customer relationship management. “Our strength is domain knowledge in sales force productivity.

Mobile technology has transformed the current business environment, This is where ITC Infotech too has updated much of its solutions to provide personalized content to medical practitioners and optimize productivity performance of the sales force at pharma and lifesciences companies with its advanced interactive applications, including GPS (Global Positioning System) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) interface. In fact, one of the interesting built-in functionalities enables easy integration with Google Maps enabling sales force to track the medical practitioner locations, V Sreenivasan, senior vice president, and Head, IBU, ITC Infotech India Ltd. told Pharmabiz.

“The big plus for international pharmaceutical and lifesciences companies is ITC Infotech’s partnership with Oracle. Now as a co-development partner for Oracle, we have access to their product management teams. This helps us to provide value-added solutions and services customized to each customer’s business priorities,” he added.

Oracle’s OpenUI is a horizontal solution and cuts across sectors including pharmaceuticals. There are enormous benefits with OpenUI as it improves user experience and productivity. We believe this will be of enormous value, and most global companies have shown keen interest in leveraging OpenUI. In the next 12-18 months, we are confident to garner positive outcome from the pilot installations at various organizations, said the senior vice president, and Head, IBU, ITC Infotech.

Specific to the pharma retail space, the company’s has developed an analytics-based offering to capture and analyse and provide actionable inputs by anticipating future trends. It would help to gain insight into customer perceptions of over-the counter drugs and non prescription based medical merchandises to track, analyse and report on relevant data. There are already multiple pharma retail majors abroad which have implemented the solution, he said.

In the area of Big Data management and cloud computing, ITC Infotech sees  exponential growth prospects ensuing from these segments, stated Sreenivasan.
