Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala to open new branch in Indore in Madhya Pradesh

The Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala, a century old healthcare institution engaged in the practice and propagation of Ayurveda in Kerala, is now planning to set up one branch in the industrial city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

According to sources, the new branch in Indore with focus on Bhopal will be inaugurated in February this year. Followed by Indore, the services of Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala will be introduced in other north Indian cities in a phased manner. With this approach, the century old Ayurveda Hospital aims to establish its footprints across all major cities in the country.

“This is our fifth branch in north India. We have branches in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and in Jharkhand. In south India our branches are located in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and in Madurai. In addition to this, we have 1500 dealers all over India,” said Dr P M Warrier, additional chief physician and chief superintendent of the Hospital.

Speaking to Pharmabiz, Dr Warrier said initially the operation at the Indore unit will be confined in the out patient department only. Consultation and dispensing of medicines will be the main functions of the hospital for six months. Later, facilities for massages will be set up at the hospital and in-patient wards will be established. Qualified and experienced ayurvedic doctors from Kerala have been recruited and posted at the unit. Paramedical staffs and other workers are also from Kerala.

About launching of the unit, Dr Warrier said the date for inauguration will be fixed according to the convenience of the state chief minister. The hospital authorities want to commence operation from February onwards. All the medicines for the hospital will be brought from the central unit at Kottakkal in Kerala. For the time being the Arya Vaidyasala in Indore will be operating in a rental building.

The hospital wants to take advantage of the good number of Keralites inhabiting at the industrial areas of Indore and Bhopal, it is learnt.
