Logistics conference to focus on API mfg, finished products distribution at BioAsia 2015
A logistic conference is going to be held as part of BioAsia 2015 in Hyderabad on February 3 at HICC. The conference is expected to focus on API manufacturing and finished products distribution.
The main aim of this conference is to discuss and deliberate on the pros and cons of the current supply chain management and to come out with ways and means to build a robust supply chain management that is safe, cost effective and foolproof to counterfeiting.
As in the past, due to lot of loopholes in the supply chain managements and product distribution systems, many have faced problems in delivering their product consignments safely to the desired destination. Particularly the supply chain management with regard to API manufacturing and distribution is facing counterfeiting problems due to interception by rouge elements.
According to Appaji, Director General of Pharmexcil, it is important to have a robust and fool proof supply chain management for Indian companies. As more and more Indian companies looking to expand and penetrating newer world markets, an agile, customized and cost-efficient supply chain management plays a vital role in ensuring safe and effective product delivery. “In the absence of a fool proof supply chain management, the export consignments of many Indian pharma companies have been intercepted and distorted by some unscrupulous elements to malign the brand image of Indian pharma. To overcome such problems in future, the logistics conference will discuss on challenges and future of supply chain management and also seek suggestions and ideas from experts and industry leaders on newer models of supply chain that will not only enable easy traceability of drugs but also ensure anti-counterfeiting,” informed the DG.
To talk on the supply chain management and finished products distribution, renowned experts like Professor Saral Mukherjee from IIM Ahmadabad and other speakers from the leading pharma and research institutions are roped in. Executives, decision makers and key leaders from multinational and domestic pharmaceutical companies are expected during the conference. About 35 international buyers are being invited by Pharmexcil for the international buyer seller meet organised by the Council as a part of BioAsia 2015.
The conference is jointly organised by Pharmexcil, Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) and Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) in Hyderabad on 3rd February.
