Narayana Nethralaya has installed an advanced Alcon WaveLight Refractive Suite to carry out OptiLasik Laser Vision Correction, which goes beyond traditional treatments to help achieve optimal eye sight. The new equipment features a 200kHZ WaveLight FS200 fem-to-second laser and the new 500 Hz WaveLight EX500 excimer laser. The two combined systems is now viewed as the world’s fastest refractive laser platform.

OptiLasik Laser Vision Correction is able to give many patients excellent results because of the technology behind it.

According to Dr Rohit Shetty, the new system is an optimized treatment plan of the patient eyes as it guides during surgery. The innovative technology creates a detailed map of eyes which serves as a guide to surgeons to personalize the Lasik procedure for good results quickly and safely. The OptiLASIK Laser Vision Correction’s precision and accuracy will now help people with myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. These eye conditions prevented patients from undergoing Lasik treatment, stated Dr Shetty.

The FDA approved clinical trial according to Dr Shetty has indicated that the Wavelight laser proved that the procedure allowed patients to do well and even better than, they did with glasses or contact lenses. Around 93 per cent of nearsighted patients saw 20/20 or better1 and 83 per cent of farsighted patients saw 20/25 or better.
