The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed/ revised the prices in respect of nine formulation packs, in accordance with the provisions of the new Drug Price Control Order (DPCO), 2013.
The formulations are based on the bulk drugs including pyrazinamide, propranolol hydrochloride, cyclophosphamid, oxaliplatin, diazepam, cefixime trihydrate with ofloxacin, according to a notification by the agency.
The NPPA also issued correction orders with regard to its earlier three orders. The corrigendum was issued in respect of S.O. No. 1545(E) dated 14.6.2013 regarding propofovl injection one per cent oil suspension, S.O. No. 1643(E) dated 14.6.2013 regarding dopamine hydrochloride injection (40mg/ml) and S.O. No. 1675(E) dated 14.6.2013 regarding neostigmine injection (0.5mg/ml) under new DPCO, 2013 Notifications/ orders dated 21.8.2013.
The ceiling price of phenobarbitone injection (200 mg/ml) has been fixed Rs. 18.75 while the price of pyrazinamide tablets (1500 mg tablet) has been fixed at Rs. 9.78, according to the order by the NPPA.
The ceiling price for diazepam tablet (2 mg) will be Rs. 1.44 while the price of oral rehydration salts powder for solution (one gram) will be Rs. 0.84, as per the order. The agency also fixed the price of oral poliomyelitis vaccine (LA) solution (1 ml) at a price of Rs. 52.52 through the notification.
