Pharmexcil, CIPI to work together to promote pharma exports of SMEs
The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) and Confederation of Indian Pharmaceutical Industry (CIPI) have decided to join hands to work together on promoting of pharma exports of SMEs. By partnering with CIPI, Pharmexcil aims at promoting the SME's in the country. CIPI in consultation with Pharmexcil i.e. the SME panel of pharmexcil will organise and conduct programmes jointly for the upliftment of the SME sector in the country.
Nipun Jain head of the SME panel of Pharmexcil, who is also in the Committee Of Administration (COA) will be co-ordinating with CIPI on the export issues of the of SMEs. The collaboration will be basically on conducting events, workshops and seminars exclusively for educating the small scale industry across the country.
Dr P V Appaji, executive director, Pharmexcil, informed, “We are glad to associate with any group that will help in bringing the small scale sector up. There are many incentives that we provide for this sector but there are only a few who are aware of it. By collaborating with CIPI we will be organising seminars and meetings focused on educating and sensitising the industry on various policies that are for them and they can avail of which will further help in the growth of the industry.”
Recently Pharmexcil had appointed K Subbi Reddy as the regional director of Pharmexcil. He will be responsible for addressing the regulatory matter and clearing the doubts on regulatory issues of the SME's in particular. Dr Appaji said, “We take SME's very seriously as they contribute largely to the industry. That is why we have provided various incentives to the small scale companies who follow the regulatory compliances and rules properly.”
He informed that companies which have exports not exceeding Rs. 15 crore are eligible to get upto Rs. 1 lakh towards travel as foreign delegates or upto Rs. 80,000 incentive when they participate in any trade events organised by Pharmexcil. Even towards product registration Pharmexcil will give reimbursement upto 15 per cent of the registration fee paid by the company.
“We shall be glad to work in cooperation with organisations like CIPI as it will help in boosting our country’s SME pharma sector exports," Dr Appaji added.
In the past also Pharmexcil conducted many events focusing on SME's. Recently it had conducted a seminar cum interactive session at Ahmedabad on Good laboratory Practices (GLP), Electronic Common Technical Document (ECTD) dossier and patent awareness followed by event covering awareness on exports and patents in Bangalore.
