Pharmexcil launches online services to accept submission for MDA, MAI claims for ease of stakeholders
In a strategic move aimed at bringing transparency within the system and enhance consumer satisfaction, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) recently launched online services to accept submission for Market Development Assistance (MDA) and Market Development Initiative (MDI) claims.
This move is aimed at delivering not only hassle-free timely services to the members but also simplifying the process by enabling them to track the status of their submission online.
The government’s schemes namely MDA and MDI are part of its initiative to assist the SMEs to promote exports and explore new markets. For enabling this, the Council has developed a software application, whereby applications can be pre-processed through online. Under this programme, the members can fill up the application and upload required documents online. Once the application is complete and accepted through online submission, a message will be sent to the person concerned asking for submission original documents, wherever required.
Dr P V Appaji informed that as of now the Council receives, processes and clears over 700 applications under MDA and MAI schemes every year. Thus this initiative has been taken to make processing of these applications easy and fast. “This is basically a stakeholder friendly step as once the application is pre-processed, it takes very less time for the secretariat to complete the formalities and submit to the government for its approval. Most importantly, if there is any incidence of shortcomings or deficiencies while filing the application, it will be immediately intimated to the concerned person through online or mail asking for submission of missing documents. What is best is that all the members can easily check the status of their applications online,” he informed.
He further added that the MDA scheme launched some time back and applications are already being filed and pre-processed through online without any hassles. Where as, for MAI applications, Dr Appaji has urged the members to start using online facility with immediate effect.
In fact, it is understood that to help the members to adopt to these changes and understand it well, the Council has given three months time. It is understood that Pharmexcil will be accepting the off-line applications under MAI scheme for three months i.e. up till October 2015. The Council has informed that from November 1, 2015 onwards, MAI applications, which deal with reimbursement of product registration claims, will be accepted through online only.
