Pharmexcil to organise India-Africa-Asia business meet to promote export of APIs

The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) will organise India- Afro-Asia Pharma Business Meet with a view to promote export of APIs. The council will invite importers interested in procuring APIs from India to participate in the business meet.

The India - Afro-Asia Pharma Business Meet will be held from September 21 to September 23, 2016 at Hotel Park Hyatt, Hyderabad. About 80-100 buyers or importers will be invited from Africa, ASEAN, CIS, SAARC regions and arrange B2B meetings with the Indian exporters.

Dr P V Appaji, director general of Pharmexcil informed that overseas delegates from Africa, ASEAN, SAARC, GCC, CIS regions are invited. About 50-60 manufacturers of finished formulations and 40-50 distributors or importers of formulations are invited. 55 overseas companies have already confirmed participation.

He further says, after Iphex, it is the second biggest event being organised by Pharmexcil with the support of Union commerce ministry. The business meet is the opportunity for Indian exporters dealing in APIs, formulations, nutraceuticals, excipients, medical devices, veterinary drugs, biologicals, Ayush products, packaging material, and pharma machinery.

The event will witness the seminars on pharma exports related to bio similar and pharma regulation subject. The council will also organise a pharma CEO conclave on the second day of the meet where CEOs, senior management persons of the pharma industry, senior government officials and few overseas CEOs will be a part of panel discussion on current pharma export related issues. The annual export and patent award will also be distributed to the eligible companies for the outstanding export performance.

The 12th annual meet of the council will be held on the third of the business meet to consider and approve the minutes of the 11th annual general meeting of the council. The report on the activities of the council for the year 2015-16 will be presented. The council will also appoint auditors for the year 2016-17.
