Pharmexcil to organise session in IAHSM to strengthen pharma trade between India, Africa
The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) is organising an interactive session on the second day of India Africa Health Sciences Meet (IAHSM) to be held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi from September 01 to September 03.
The India Africa Health Sciences Meet will be organised by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The Pharmexcil will be organizing a session on Advancing Industrial Cooperation in Pharma and Healthcare Sector.
Dr G N Singh, DCGI; Sudhanshu Pandey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce; Sudhansh Pant, Joint Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals; Eswara Reddy, Joint DCGI; P V Appaji, Director General, Pharmexcil and Dinish Dua, Vice Chairman, Pharmexcil will participate as panelists.
Appaji says, “The health science submit is organised by the health ministry and ICMR. The commerce ministry advised Pharmaexcil to organise 2 to 3 session as a part of the submit. We are organising this session related to pharma industry by inviting speakers from India and Africa. We will cover topics related to the establishment of Pharma industry, making availability of essential medicines to Africa and also recognistion of IPC in Africa.”
He further says, “In order to have comprehensive discussion and formulate a roadmap ahead for building partnership with Africa in the area of Healthcare, the three day IAHSM has been designed to focus on institutional co-operation, capacity building, industrial co-operation, contract manufacturing, research and education.”
A session incorporating three breakout sessions has been designed for interaction on 2nd September. The Session titled 'Advancing Industrial Co-operation in Pharma and Healthcare' is devoted to understanding the needs of Africa and how India can extend its support, informed Appaji.
