RGCI&RC to host 3-day international conference on colorectal cancer in New Delhi

Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCI&RC), New Delhi is organising a three-day 12th annual international conference on colorectal cancer (RGCON-2013) at Hotel Eros in Delhi from February 15 to 17, 2013. The conference is designed to present an up-to-date scientific developments and clinical practices for the management of colorectal cancer.

The theme of the conference is 'Changing Scenario in Colorectal Cancer'.

The symposia will address the emerging issues in the area of colon cancer and suggest strategies to counter the third most prevalent type of cancer in the world.  More than 225 eminent speakers from India and abroad will be participating at RGCON-2013 to share the achievements in the field of oncology - colorectal cancer in particular.

Dr Sunil Gupta, organising secretary, RGCON-2013 said, “Management of colorectal cancer is changing at a fast pace and to address the issues in this changing scenario new theories and practices are evolving continuously. The conference has been designed to present an up-to-date on scientific developments and clinical practices in this area.”

The three-day event will highlight the latest tools and techniques to further complement the efforts of the prominent cancer specialists from UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, Italy, Korea, etc. who are actively participating in the convention.

The prominent hospitals across the world are also participating at RGCON-2013, they includes: AIIMS, Tata Memorial Hospital, Duke University Medical Centre, Adyar Cancer Institute, CMC Vellore, Apollo Hospital, University of Leicester and University of South California, etc.

The conference will also be having separate sessions which will be dedicated to surgical oncology, medical oncology, radio oncology, pathology, genetics, and biology pertaining to colorectal cancer. The live workshop will be conducted on robotic surgery, Yttrium-90 Microspheres in liver metastasis, stenting in colorectal cancer which is a major attraction at the conference.

To mark excellence in the field of cancer care, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre will be presenting RGCON Life Time Achievement Award.
