All clearances have been done, except the final nod of chief minister’s office, after which the health ministry will release a notification,” informed a senior officer in the Directorate of Medical Education.

According to inputs available, the state government had created 115 new units in different departments. Of which General Medicine and General Surgery constitute 12 units each, 20 units in Gynecology, 14 units in Pediatrics etc. Among these units, the government is expected to fill 99 posts of Associate professors, 198 Assistant professors, 463 staff nurses, 77 technical assistants, 52 laboratory attenders, 34 store keepers, 5 posts of child psychologists, 16 social workers, 5 posts each of health educators and dark room assistants, 65 steno typists and 75 posts of record clerks across all the government teaching hospitals in the state.

Particularly, these posts will be filled in Government Teaching hospitals attached to the newly established medical colleges in Mahabubnagar, Warangal and Nizamabad in addition to filling up of vacancies in the existing old teaching hospitals.

“This is great news for the unemployed medical professionals who have been waiting for very long since past few years. We are eagerly looking for the release of a formal notification, which will help unemployed medical professionals to apply under various posts,” said Dr. Bhaskar, a Medical Postgraduate candidate waiting for openings in the government medical colleges.
