West Pharma, the leading manufacturer of packaging components for injectables in the world, is fast gearing up to open its first pharmaceutical seals manufacturing plant at Sri City special economic zone (SEZ) in Nellore.

According to sources, the new manufacturing plant at Sri City is ready for commercial production and will be opened on July 16.  Earlier, in June 2012, West Pharma had signed a 99 year lease for an industrial plot of 72,800 square meters of land to build an integrated manufacturing plant at Sri City.  

At present, the new construction facility for metal seal manufacturing is spread over an area of 15300 square meters. In fact, the new facility was about to be inaugurated in April-May this year, but it was delayed due to regulatory audit and quality checks. With everything in place now, the company will start producing seals used in primary packaging of injectable for customers both in India and the wider Asia Pacific region.

“We have completed all the required regulatory auditing and quality checks and have decided to inaugurate the plant on 16th July with full scale commercial production,” said the source.

At present, West Pharma is experiencing a healthy growth and with this new plant going on commercial production the firm is planning to move with more vigour in the Asian markets.
