Yashoda Hospitals conducts live surgery workshop, scientific symposium in Vizag
Yashoda Hospitals, one of the leading hospital groups in Andhra Pradesh, conducted a live surgery workshop and scientific symposium across five specialties in Visakhapatnam recently.
According Yashoda Hospital, three live surgical procedures in three different specialities such as cardiology, vascular surgery and orthopaedics were broadcasted, from the operation theatres in Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad to the participants in Visakhapatnam. A two-way communication was made available to facilitate interaction between the surgeons and the participants during the live procedures.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr G S Rao, managing director, Yashoda Group of Hospital, said, “We have chosen Visakhapatnam for this unique workshop owing to its exponential growth in healthcare in the recent past. With mushrooming of healthcare facilities supported by government as well as private institutions, this town is slowly evolving to be a major medical hub, fulfilling the growing demand for quality healthcare in the region. Live Surgery Workshops and Symposiums can be valuable platforms to carry forward the tradition of excellence, quality, openness and fellowship in the healthcare industry.”
Adding further he said the hospital’s initiative is a small step in keeping with its aim to increase awareness on medical advancements by sharing our vast knowledge gained over two decades of extensive experience in most advanced diagnostics, treatments and therapies. The workshop and symposium is based on free-exchange of knowledge obtained from the hospital’s combined wisdom pool of over 700 doctors from Yashoda in different specialties, across three hospitals.
A scientific symposium with two sessions on radiation oncology and neurology were also organised as part of the workshop. The symposium focused on presenting and critically assessing recent advances and key topics in these specialties to enhance the knowledge of the participants.
It included interactive lectures delivered in radiation oncology by Dr. C H. Srinivas, Radiation Oncologist, on ‘Modern day management of cancer’ and in Neurology on ‘Recent advances in the treatment of acute Ischaemic Stroke - first 12 hours’ by Dr Jaydip Ray Chaudhuri, Neurologist.
