Ajanta Pharma's net sales up by 31% inQ1

Ajanta Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical formulation company, with strong focus on speciality segments of ophthalmology, dermatology and cardiology, pushed its net sales by 31 per cent during the first quarter ended June 2006 to Rs 44.86 crore from Rs 34.31 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net profit also increased to Rs 1.29 crore from Rs 0.79 crore. The earning per share worked out to Rs 1.11 as compared to Rs 0.67 in the last period.

For the year ended March 2006, its net sales touched to Rs 206 crore and it earned a net profit of Rs 10.35 crore with an annual EPS of Rs 8.84.

The company continues to launch innovative products both in domestic as well as international market. The brand building efforts continues all over the world with focus on speciality segments.
