The latest technology in the field of vision correction - Zyoptix, will now be available at the Anuditi Eye Care center in south Mumbai. Zyoptix, which has been developed by Bausch & Lomb, is based on the space age technology first utilized by NASA to map the surface of the moon. The same principle has been used to map the eye and conduct corrective surgery, which is more accurate and personalized.

"Each eye has an aberration which is unique to each individual like a fingerprint. What Zyoptix does is that, it picks up this aberration within the eye and customizes and personalizes the treatment," said JP Singh, Managing Director, Bausch & Lomb India Ltd. at the launch on 24 September.

Each Zyoptix assessment involves an extra screening process extensive enough to let the surgeon see every individual's unique optical characteristics.

"It is a matter of great satisfaction for the ophthalmological community that even the very latest of technology in the field are being made available in India at such a fast pace. We at the Anuditi Eye Care are proud to be a part of this revolution," said Dr Sanjiv Shah, Director, Anuditi Eye Care.

The Zyoptix procedure is an improvement on the current procedures in several ways. The key advantages of this procedure are; most accurate vision correction, better night vision, greater predictability of the surgical outcome, greater safety and efficiency and it is also a less invasive procedure.
