ARC launches trauma insurance scheme in AP

The Bangalore-based Accident Relief Care (ARC) has launched its 'Trauma Care Insurance Concept' in Andhra Pradesh, starting with Hyderabad. The scheme is being offered in association with the United India Assurance at a premium of Rs 365 per annum with a registration fee of Rs 85.

Offering the concept of accident relief for just as little as Rs 1 per day, ARC offers also clears the medical bills up to Rs 1 lakh in case of meeting with an accident, during the insured period. In case of death due to accident, in addition to clearing bills upto Rs 1 lakh (incurred in attempting to save the member's life), the nominee is also paid Rs 1 lakh, the company sources said.

ARC provides 24 hours free ambulance service to its members and also tries to organize blood for the victims. The company's scheme can be availed by anyone between 3 to 75 years of age. "Our aim is to make Hyderabad a fatality free zone", K Sailesh, director- Marketing and Operations said.

ARC also offers members an option for a family scheme where lives of couple and three children in a family are insured at a cost of Rs 1350 (to be paid every year) and a couple at Rs 800 (per annum), and the amounts include one time registration fee.

ARC has already tied up with leading hospitals in the city including Apollo, Care, Image, KIMS, Rainbow Children's Hospital, St Theresa Hospital, Remedy Multi Specialty Hospital and Hyderabad Nursing Home. It is planning to establish links with other hospitals too, in the near future, sources informed.

The company which started its operations at Bangalore four years back has over 2.5 lakh members.
