Biosite Incorporated announced the launch of a new subsidiary, Biosite France SAS, which will manage direct sales and distribution of Biosite's products in France. Tobias Volker, general manager, and Philippe Bornibus, sales director, will head the unit. All products, including the Triage Drugs of Abuse Panel, Triage Cardiac Panel, Triage BNP Test, Triage TOX Drug Screen and Triage C. difficile Panel, will be available through the unit's direct sales force.

"BMD has done well distributing our products for the past four years," said Gary King, vice president worldwide marketing and sales. "However, given the rapid expansion of our product lines and our desire to provide our customers in France the highest level of clinical service and support, we believe this is the appropriate time to establish a direct sales and marketing presence there."
