The website is expected to be functional in a couple of months. It will have detailed information about all the products of Dow Corning and Xiameter.

Dow Corning is a joint venture equally owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning, Inc. The company has more than 7,000 products and services. Apart from healthcare, its customers are from various industries like automotive, aviation, beauty & personal care, chemical manufacturing, construction, electronics, food & beverage, household & cleaning, imaging, industrial lubrication , moldmaking, oil & gas, paints & inks, photonics, plasma, plastics, power & utility, pulp & paper, pressure sensitive, rubber fabrication semiconductor, solar, textile and leather.

Speaking at the launch of the informative website, Jean Paul Mollie, region president for India, Middle East and South Africa of Dow Corning said, "Dow Corning is announcing today the creation of the world's largest online marketplace for silicone materials. We will offer new payment and ordering options to help customers. Today, we are also announcing a significant expansion of our business. We will more than double the number of standard silicone products available through out Xiameter brand."

Also present at the occasion, S Venkataraman, India business head for Xiameter said that with the help of the online marketplace, Xiameter business model will be made stronger. The company will be more than doubling the number of products offered through the Xiameter business model. "Presently, the Xiameter website will be made available in English only. We will be expanding the website languages into Chinese and Korean."
