InClinition to hold awareness programme on pharma & clinical research on Dec 8 at Dombivli in Mumbai

InClinition, a pharmaceutical and clinical research service provider organization, will conduct an awareness programme  on pharmaceutical and clinical research on December 8, 2013 at Dombivli in Mumbai.

The programme is  part of InClinition’s corporate social responsibility.  The one and half hour programme is being conducted in Marathi to  help  the public  to understand process of drug discovery and development including importance of participation in human subject research. This programme will inculcate importance of research and will probably change the mindset of public, said Avinash Deodhar, director, InClinition.

The main speaker of the event is  Dr Ulhas Kolhatkar, a paediatrician, Siddhi Hospital For Children, Dombivili  and the  chief guest will be Vinayak Patrudkar, editor, Lokmat. Avinash Deodhar, director, InClinition will address the session.

"This is first ever programme in pharma industry to inculcate research principles in people. This will in turn improve participation of subjects in research and will in turn strengthen research governance in  our country. Conducting programme  in Marathi will be added advantage to community to impart principles of research," said Avinash Deodhar, director, InClinition.

Since 2005, India is attractive destination for clinical trials and pharmaceuticals industry. However, change in regulations and ambiguity in scientifically trained staff lead to emergence of negative news in media in India. Currently, Indian media tries to show human studies as bad and unethical. However, none of these media tries to obtain scientific basis of deaths that occurred i.e. using causality assessment, he added.
