Ipack-Ima hopes to have collaborative agreement with Indian companies for Pharmintech

The 22nd edition of Ipack-Ima 2012, a comprehensive exhibition displaying processing, packaging and material handling technology for food, pharma and other sector is going to be organised in Milan from February 28 to March 3, 2012. Apart from that Ipack-Ima will also be organising Pharmintech at Bologna in Italy from April 17 to 19, 2013 which is specifically focused to attract pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and personal care industry.

Ipack-Ima is hopeful that since India is a major pharmaceutical hub it will be able to attract and collaborate with more Indian players who will be interested to be a part of Pharmintech by not only visiting but also exhibiting at the event.

Pharmintech provides a perfect opportunity for the  professionals from the pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical industry to get a close-up introduction to the world's latest solutions for process and packaging machinery, raw materials, infrastructure, plant, logistics, packaging materials, containers, and services.

According to Dr Guido Corbella, managing director, Ipack-Ima Spa, this is a huge event where companies from across Europe will be participating to exhibit their latest technological innovation under the same roof providing one of the best opportunities for the Indian companies to interact with them. “India has a huge potential and market for this products and we are looking forward to see more visitors and exhibitors from India. We want the Indian companies to understand that we are open to discuss their specific requirements and work along with them to cater to their needs.”

Last year there were around 50 plus visitors from India who had  participated at the event and the organisers are hopeful that this year there will be able to attract even more participants. However, Dr Corbella stressed that one area they are focusing is to attract more exhibitors from India for the Ipack-Ima Pharmintech.

Dr Corbella said, “India is one of the biggest market for us along with China and we want to leverage as much as possible from such big event so that everyone can equally benefits from it. We are looking forward to have collaborative agreements with various pharma association's and government wherein we can closely work with each other understanding each others need.”

Speaking about the importance of being present at an international event, P V Narayana, secretary-general, Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI) stressed that International events like Ipack-Ima Pharmintech will help the Indian industry to acquire and implement latest technologies that are in par with the United Nations (UN) assisted packaging standard. “India companies needs to participate in international events and expos so that it will expose the domestic players to understand and adopt latest technological innovations and trends that being followed in the market,” Narayana added.

Lucia Lamonarca, research & development manager of Ipack-Ima informed that the event will be a one stop source for all who are at looking at adopting new technological innovation. “We are hopeful that we will be able to reach across the segment and make them aware about this event so that more and more people are sensitised about it.”

Pharmintech is expected to attract CEOs and top executives from pharma manufacturing industry, from production, quality control, R&D and purchase departments, professionals from R&D institutions, pharmacists from trade and profession, biotechnology specialists, top officials from regulatory agencies of central and state governments etc. from across the world.
