MV Diabetes Hospital sets up Diabetes Clinic at Hyderabad

The Chennai- based MV Hospital for Diabetes and Diabetes Research Centre has set up 'MV Diabetes Clinic' at Hyderabad with an investment of Rs 1.5 crore.

The clinic is to offer modern diabetes care with state-of-the-art medical facilities aimed at helping diabetic patients to lead a normal and healthy life, said Dr A Ramachandran, managing director of the hospital.

The clinic includes a sophisticated diagnostic laboratory, eye department, foot care laboratory with facilities for Doppler and Bio-thesiometry studies department of nutrition and diet, and department of diabetes education and counseling, a fully computerised medical records department.

The clinic will have experts representing various specialties and sub specialties including diabetology, ophthalmology, cardiology, nephrology. The diabetic care team also includes qualified dietitians, physician assistants and specially trained diabetes health educators.

The clinic has facility for early diagnosis of diabetes triggered diseases affecting the heart, kidneys, eyes, feet, nervous system, metabolism and reproductive organs.

The MV Hospital set up by late prof M Viswanathan over 50 years ago, has been designated by the WHO as its collaborating centre for research, education and training in diabetes in India.
