Prof. M. L. Schroff Memorial Oration organised at Bilaspur

Prof. M. L. Schroff Memorial Oration on his birth centenary jointly with Pharmacist Training Programme was organized at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, G. G. University, Bilaspur on April 11, 2003. The function was inaugurated by Prof. C. K. Kokate, Chief Guest of the function and Prof. J. S. Dangi welcomed all dignitaries and invited guests. Prof. V. K. Dixit introduced the chief guest and guests of honour of the function.

In his Inaugural speech, Prof. C. K. Kokate, reiterated that in the changing global scenario there is an urgent need to become competitive through improvement in quality of services. He emphasised the need of patient-oriented services in retail and hospital pharmacy particularly in rural areas.

Dr. Vijay Singh, guest of honour of the function also advised all Pharmacists regarding proper storage and handling of medicines in the interest of health of patients. Prof. Harkishan Singh delivered a lecture on "Prof. Mahadev Lal Schroff; Maker of Modern Pharmacy."

Dr. J. N. Singh, Director (Personnel), SECL, Bilaspur also stressed upon the better and quality services in the field of pharmacy. Prof. Girijest Pant, Honorable Vice Chancellor, G. G. University, in his presidential address urged to all the pharmacy professionals to recognize the contribution of Prof. M. L. Schroff and also advised to pay respectful homage to the great Indian Pharmacist, Father of Pharmacy Education in India and to follow the path shown by him with all sincerity and humility.
