SGEI and Asian Institute of Gastroenterology to organise 5th Annual Conference from Feb 13-15

The Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India in association with the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad is organizing its 5th Annual Conference, which will include an international GI therapeutic endoscopy workshop. It will be held at Hyderabad from 13-15 February 2004.

The workshop will showcase several new techniques in therapeutic endoscopy by experts from all over the world. It will have talks on various aspects, live demonstrations and panel discussions. There will be breakout meetings involving small group discussions with the faculty. The live demonstrations will be performed at the new hospital complex of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and will be transmitted to the venue of the workshop, Hotel Fortune Katriya.

The international faculty includes Michael Cremer and Jacques Deviere of Belgium, Norman Marcon and Gregory Haber of Canada, David Carr-Locke, Robert Hawes and Kulwinder Dua of USA, Giodo Costamagna of Italy, SCS Chung and Joseph Sung from Hongkong, H Inoue of Japan, and Chan Sup Shim of South Korea.

The workshop will focus on new procedures such as wireless pH capsule, M2A patency capsule, endoscopic cryosurgery, endoscopic therapy for obesity, per oral transgastric endoscopic pertineoscopy and endoscopic appendectomy.

Registration fee for the conference is Rs.2500. Post graduate students have to pay only Rs.1000 (letter of recommendation from HOD required), and foreign delegates are required to pay $300. Payment must be made only through demand draft drawn in favour of ‘Asian Health Care Foundation’ payable at Hyderabad. Last date for registration is 31 January.
