15th state conference of AMAI will be held at Kollam on Jan 10 and 11
The 15th state conference and the 36th annual general body meeting of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) will be held at Kollam in Kerala today and tommorrow. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Ayurveda for Women’s Health’.
Central ayush minister, Sreepad Yesso Naik, Kerala health minister V S Sreekumar, labour minister Shibu Baby John, members of Parliament – N K Premachandran, K N Balagopal and Kodikunnil Suresh, member of Kerala legislative assembly – Adv Aisha Potti, Kollam Mayor Honey Benjamin and senior officials from the health departments of central and state governments will attend the two days programmes.
Briefing Pharmabiz about the conference, Dr Rejith Anand, general secretary of AMAI, said this year’s state conference will chalk out various programmes to get implemented the central ayush schemes devised by central government in Kerala with the support of the state government. He said the organisation plans to put a major demand before the state government to ease the excise laws with regard to ayurveda preparations and sale of drugs. Further, more deliberations will be held on to continue the fight against quacks in the sector.
The two days conference expects more than one thousand ayush practitioners from across the state.
