Some of the latest procedures in dentistry such as Invisalign, Radio Surgery, Metal free dentistry and IMTEC techniques will be introduced at Dr.Gowds Dental Hospitals at Hyderabad shortly. Dr. M.S. Gowd, a member of American Dental Association has been to 144th annual conference of American Dental Association at San Francisco and had undergone advanced training in adhesive dentistry, one hour non surgical implants and complete and partial removable dentures.

Dr. Gowd has been recently awarded a fellowship from the American College of Dentists, USA.

Explaining the new procedures, he plans tot introduce at his facility, he said that Invisalign is a new method to straighten teeth without using metal braces & wires. It uses 3-D computer imaging technology to depict the complete treatment plan from the initial position to the final desired position, from which series of custom- made aligners are produced. These aligners moves the teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next aligner in series until the final position is achieved.

Radio Surgery is a latest method where surgeries can be done without cutting tissues with knives and hence it is bloodless, stitchless, painless method of treating gum enlargements, excess gum around wisdom teeth, children with tongue-tied condition (frenectomy).

With the advent of hi-tech polymers into dentistry, fit and grip, durability, and natural-ness of teeth can be ensured by replacement of missing teeth, which is a 'Metal-free' method. They are light in weight.

IMTEC have brought a new era in implant dentistry which is a non-surgical oral implant technique with less complications and fastest way of delivering implants with better function and long term results at an affordable cost compared to conventional implants.

Other new method is no-pain dentistry and use of needle-less injections in dentistry. No-pain dentistry is a latest concept that has ushered into dentistry wherein, dental lasers are used in treating bad breathe, bleeding gums, teeth whitening, root canal treatment, and gum surgery. Needle-less injection is a latest system where pain-less injections can be given, when anaesthesia is required. It is a battery operated vibrating system where the injection will be given with gentility and in no time. It is especially useful for children and adults apprehensive of needles.
